The FPC flex pcb board is a relatively weak component, and if it is not designed properly, it can easily cause fracture. As for the structure, we are concerned about the appearance of the FPC. Under the condition of ensuring performance completion, although narrow and thin, it is easy to scratch and break the FPC through-hole on the B/C part of the phone with the shell. When designing the exterior of FPC soft boards, it is also important to pay attention to the radius of the corners, usually R1 for the inner corner and R3 or R4 for the outer corner.


The width of FPC flex pcb board design is related to the pin line width, line spacing, and pin number. If there are more pins, it is natural to make it wider. Perhaps double-sided boards can be used to replace single panels to reduce the width, but of course, the thickness will inevitably increase. As for the length issue of FPC, because FPC has good flexibility and good bending performance, it is advisable to leave some allowance in length, and there is no need to calculate it thoroughly. In addition, it is important to pay attention to the gap between the B/C component and the through-hole when designing the appearance of the FPC. Even if the wall thickness and strength of the B/C component are met, leaving more space for the FPC soft board, the design of this area is of utmost importance for us.
